What a career–Pianist, Prime Minister, Grape Grower!

Looking for a career change? Need some inspiration?

Take a look at the life of Ignacy Paderewski. Paderewski was a brilliant pianist, a pretty darn good composer, and a Polish statesman advocating for the independence of Poland. After working with Woodrow Wilson and becoming the Prime Minister of Poland, Paderewski relocated to sunny California.

Just what does a polish statesman and pianist do during the first half of the 1900s in California? Why he grows Zinfandel grapes, of course!

Paderewski showed his sense of humor from time to time. One of my favorite quotes is:

“Piano playing is more difficult than statesmanship. It is harder to awake emotions in ivory keys than it is in human beings.”

Changing careers is not an easy path, and doesn’t happen overnight. If you find yourself a little discouraged, work harder. Then take a moment to relax. Try some new inspirational music, along with a refreshing beverage.
